The Enrollment Communications Specialist will nurture relationships with the constituents of Houghton University using multi-channel communication campaigns to engage and support student recruitment and yield. They will collaborate as an essential member of the Enrollment Team at Houghton.
Essential Functions:
This position will partner with other marketing team members to develop, execute, and analyze mixed-media, data-driven targeted recruitment communication campaigns, with primary responsibility for:
Campaign Development – Executes day-to-day content development (write, edit, proof, design, build and send) of communications to prospective student audiences.
Develop series of email and SMS communications to support objectives of residential, online and graduate admissions.
Infuse personalized and brand-specific messaging using technical skills (list segmentation, HTML, liquid markup, etc.).
Build mailing lists for direct mail, email and SMS communications.
Identify opportunities to leverage current and new technologies for the greatest effectiveness in enrollment operations.
Analysis and Optimization – Measure key performance indicators for communications to implement improvements to achieve enrollment goals.
Uses data and industry best practices to recommend ways to optimize communication campaigns for success.
Utilizes CRM system, especially for, but not limited to, creating, testing and validating audiences; testing; sending; tracking and assessing marketing tactics across email, SMS, and direct mail.
Regularly reports on campaign performance and optimize communications.
Counsel and provide recommendations on best practices and procedures as they pertain to mass marketing, and digital communication, in addition to ensuring compliance with associated regulations and policies.

Statement of Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in communications, visual arts, integrated marketing, public relations or related field
Professional experience or a portfolio of work demonstrating excellence and creativity
Knowledge of email marketing platforms (such as Technolutions Slate, Marketo, Salesforce, Pardot, Hubspot), basic HTML, and demonstrated ability to work with a CRM (preferably Technolutions Slate) to enhance communications
Team player with strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to manage deadlines and adjust to changing priorities for multifaceted projects with limited supervision
Demonstrated professional experience or a portfolio of work that demonstrates proficiency with all stages of content creation, including conception, filming/photographing/writing, editing, distributing and archiving
