The American Institutions Senior Program Manager (AISPM) will manage the administrative and programmatic functions of the newly founded Center for the Revitalization of American Political Institutions (hereafter the Center). The AISPM will report to the Senior Fellow directing the Center and needs to be able to carry out responsibilities with minimal supervision. These responsibilities include (but are not limited to) public relations management, high-level administrative support, and communications outreach for both the Center and Senior Fellow directing the Center. This role requires an ability to interface with Hoover senior fellows and Stanford faculty, staff of all levels, students, high-ranking public officials, and other visitors to Hoover. Discretion, an ability to multi-task, and enthusiasm about programs on US politics are a must.
The position will be responsible for three major activities but will include other duties as assigned: (1) facilitating the activities of individuals contributing to the Center's programs that may include conferences, publications, visits to the Stanford campus and Hoover's Washington office, and educational programming; (2) communications, writing, and editorial work in support of projects undertaken by the Center; (3) disseminating communications in coordination with other Hoover staff in areas of strategic outreach and media relations.
Lead the planning and operations for programs or functions that have significant policy and societal implications, requiring subject matter expertise.
Evaluate programs or functions, policies and procedures. Identify issues and develop solutions that may include new programs, policies and procedures.
Represent the Center including by providing information and/or training. Represent the Center to external/internal stakeholders and constituencies.
Review and analyze political and policy developments to advise and develop recommendations to achieve or modify the goals of the program or function.
Manage and contribute to the development of outreach strategy that may include relationship development, communications and compliance.
May develop and/or oversee budgets; manage finances including monitoring, analyzing, forecasting, and reporting.
Direct and/or supervise staff as necessary.
ADDITIONAL CORE DUTIES*:
Execute and manage all aspects of meetings, workshops, and conferences for the Center that may include pre-existing research groups and projects. This will include working closely with the Senior Fellow directing the Center, special events team, and participating scholars and guest speakers, both in the U.S. and internationally.
Assist with the coordination of marketing and communications efforts in relation to the output and productivity of the Center. Will include working closely with members of the Hoover Press and the Communications and Marketing teams.

Education & Experience:
Advanced degree and five years of relevant experience in area of specialization or combination of relevant education, training, and/or experience. Experience managing a budget and developing financial plans. Experience developing program partnerships.

Advanced oral, written, and analytical skills, exhibiting fluency in area of specialization.

Experience with and basic knowledge of skills in the production and management of podcasts, social media, websites, and publishing platforms.
