As a key member of our Communications team, you will direct internal communications strategies, programs and information to ensure consistent, high-quality messaging across owned UCLA Health David Geffen School of Medicine (DGSOM) channels. You will sync communication efforts with ongoing communications strategies, making content assets more effective and efficient.
As our Communications Manager, you will be responsible for serving as principal communications strategist and assuring content and messaging reflect UCLA Health’s and DGSOM’s voice and brand standards through print and online channels. You will serve as a strategic partner to internal stakeholders and C-suite leaders, providing real-time guidance, building relationships and gathering insights. You will be responsible for the creation and execution of communications plans, cascading information and integrating brand and content strategies that engage systemwide stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or closely related field or equivalent experience is required.
Minimum of 7 years related corporate communications experience, preferably in a large and complex healthcare environment.
Previous public relations and communications experience.
Strong editorial skills and experience with AP
The ability to write and edit copy in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop strong networks and relationships.
Self-starter, able to drive high volume of work to completion with minimum guidance.
Must be proactive, results oriented and have strong attention to detail.
Capable of effectively prioritizing and managing multiple tasks to meet targeted deadlines.
Excellent planning, management and execution skills.
Must be able to demonstrate sound judgment, intellectual curiosity and strategic thinking.
Ability to be flexible in a dynamic and changing environment.
