Position is responsible for day-to-day administrative and operational functions of University College and the Business Office of the School. This position performs high-level research and complex financial modeling and analysis that influences strategic direction and new initiatives, and plays a key role in managing projects across multiple directors, managers, department administrators, and the Dean of the School, supporting cross-functional initiatives, internal communications, human resource management, and process improvements.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for aligning the schoolâ™s financial goals with institutional goals; serve as the subject-matter expert in effective and efficient management of financial resources.Â
Collaborate with the Dean and Senior Director of Administration and Finance to develop and monitor the Schoolâ™s annual and projected operating budget and use of restricted and unrestricted funds, including year-end closing, variance analysis and year-to-year and actual-to budget comparisons.
Provide financial projections based on current year activity and fiscal year estimate, and future projections based on current knowledge of future expenses, recruiting and staffing, trend analysis of tuition income, and existing and potential external funding.Â
Perform complex analysis and financial modeling based on anticipated expenditures and financial performance targets to determine pricing and financial viability of proposed programs and partnerships with community and corporate entities; develop conclusions, and present high-level summary of recommendations.
In consultation with Academic Directors and other program managers, create program profit and loss projections for non-credit programs.
Represent the School in financial discussions and negotiations with University Central Administration, other Schools of the University and outside vendors.
Determine reporting needs and create customized user reports (standard and ad hoc) to meet operational needs; perform data collection, analysis and reporting for complex budgetary, financial, staffing, and resource projects needed to manage financial resources and drive improvements in resource allocation.
Oversee the Business Office of the School responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, procurement, student billing and financial aid, academic payroll, gifts and grants; directly supervises the Manager of Accounting and Financial Planning.
Manage multiple complex, high priority projects across the financial, human resources and student systems.Â
Develop, plan, and lead the implementation of short- and long-term projects to achieve goals and objectives; create and manage work groups to accomplish projects and tasks; hold project status meetings to ensure stakeholders are involved in decision-making and that effective communication plans are in place.
Ensure special projects led by others within the organization are developed effectively and are meeting milestones and remain on track; aid in completion of cross-functional projects.Â
Administration and Operations Management
Collaborate with leadership to identify opportunities such as new initiatives, relationships, program development, and operational efficiency; establish strong collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including University College senior leadership, faculty, staff, and students.
Maintain efficient operations for University College; analyze current state, make recommendations for improvement; oversee planning and implementation of new initiatives.Â
Oversees student registration function, directly supervises University College Registrar.
Serve as University College liaison to Facilities Planning & Management, technology support staff, Telecommunications, Software Licensing, and other external vendors in planning and delivery of resources and support.
Assist in physical space planning and utilization, and delivery and tracking of computer and other equipment for staff.
Serve on internal operations team collaborating with University Information Technology (WUIT) to ensure IT needs are supported and services are delivered; partner with WUIT in developing project charter and monitoring projects created in response to new technology needs and program delivery.
Foster a strong workplace environment and contribute to change management strategies.
Other duties as assigned to support University College.

Must have the ability to travel to between campuses.
Some evenings and weekends for specific events ie: graduation, new student and faculty orientation, etc.
Advanced degree preferred with over seven years of relevant experience.
Prior experience working in a University environment, especially in administration, operations, project development, finance and management.Â
Understanding of reporting and financial analysis; experience with Workday,Â Tableau, Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Access.
Commitment to completing tasks with great attention to detail, balanced with an ability to meet deadlines.Â
Advanced skills in clearly communicating and presenting concepts and information.
Success managing multiple priorities, projects and initiatives.
Ability to effectively guide others and lead teams in completing tasks.
Exceptional relationship, communication, and business development skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across organizational boundaries.Â

Bachelorâ™s in Business Administration or a related field is required.
At least five years of accounting-related and supervisory experience.
$77,700.00 - $136,700.00 / AnnuallyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
