Â POSITION SUMMARY
The Irving R. and Virginia A. Melbo Chair in Education Administration seeks a half-time administrative assistant II that will assist in organizing and expediting the flow of work in the chairâs office. The successful candidate MUST be details oriented, motivated, resourceful, demonstrate initiative, strong data management and computer skills, have some experience and a strong interest in supporting the responsibilities of the chair related to convening educator events focused on education administration, including superintendent preparation and support, examining research on effective leadership and system effectiveness, working with school system leaders, researchers, and media related to education administration. Reports to the Melbo Chair in Education Administration.

Job Responsibilities under the direction of the Melbo Chair in Education Administration:
Organizes and expedites flow of work through the office of the Melbo Chair in Education Administration.Â Serves as resource to others on Melbo Chair functions and resolves moderate to complex problems and issues.Â
Composes and produces a variety of business correspondence and related materials. Orders and maintains supplies and coordinates facilities requests, equipment service and parking reservations.
Assists in the planning and coordination of Melbo Chair public relations functions, as assigned, such as special events, conferences, seminars, etc.Â
Maintains select mailing list for communicating with educational leaders, locally, in California, and nationally.
Works with business office to manage budget and process reimbursements, as appropriate, for the Melbo Chair.
Calendar management and meeting scheduling. This includes maintaining and coordinating the Melbo Chairâs calendar and scheduling meetings and preparing all logistics associated with these meetings and manages timelines.Â
