Responsible for developing, implementing, and assessing admissions campus visits and organizing on-and-off campus recruitment and yield events for prospective students for the Undergraduate Admissions Office. The Associate Director of Visits and Events assumes responsibility for recruitment events and their success through timely and effective use of resources, time management skills, strong leadership abilities, and communication. Works with campus partners to develop and improve processes related to visits and events. Supervises assigned staff. Interacts professionally with all internal and external customers using strong interpersonal skills and maintains positive relationships across campus and with the City of Mt. Pleasant.
Bachelor's degree. Four years of progressively responsible experience in admissions, student services, enrollment services, higher education, or a business operations environment that includes medium-to-large-scale event planning and management and student interaction. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to nurture and maintain relationships with internal/external educational and business partners. Knowledge of current trends in higher education admissions, event management, marketing, and public relations. Strong problem analysis and resolution skills. Demonstrated multi-tasking and organizational abilities. Supervisory experience. PC proficiency, including word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends. Valid driver's license and ability to establish driver eligibility under the University's Driving and Motor Vehicle Policy. Ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
