Works closely with the International Rights Manager to develop strategies for promoting Press titles to international markets.
Communicates directly with international publishers and agents worldwide.
Creates promotional materials and targeted pitches for each seasonal catalog and for backlist titles.
Designs targeted email marketing campaigns.
Responds to rights inquiries and routine correspondence concerning the administration of new and existing translation licenses.
Issues translation licenses, letters of cancellation, amendments, and license extensions.
Supervises the tracking of contractual documents.
Works closely with the Intellectual Property Department and the Business Office to maintain accurate records of licenses and rights inquiries in databases and physical files.
Attends national and international book fairs.
Follows up on meetings at international book fairs on behalf of the International Rights Manager.
Represents the International Rights Department in editorial meetings as needed.
Assists with training and supervising student workers in providing appropriate office support. Â
Develops marketing communications, advertising, or publicity materials with a moderate level of guidance from others. Develops, plans, and coordinates the development and production of marketing and publicity materials and campaigns, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met.
Monitors, analyzes, and reports on sales and circulation activity. Analyses possible solutions using standard procedures. Conducts market research, analyzes results and develops marketing strategies based on findings. May participate in developing new products and services, and determining new markets.
Performs other related work as needed.
A minimum of two years of experience in publishing or a related field. Â
Technical Skills or Knowledge:
Adobe Creative Suite.
HTML marketing campaign software.
Knowledge of database, word processing, and spreadsheet software.
Familiarity with contracts and copyright law.
Knowledge of at least one foreign language.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
