Assist in the oversight of the public relations and publicity for the university's athletic program, including production, media and community relations, event management, and historical, statistical, and photographic record-keeping.
Responsible for publicity of day-to-day media relations, creation of new content, and communication efforts for assigned sport(s) including travel with assigned sport(s) team(s) to provide coverage of events and assistance with media operations.
Serve as managing director for UHCougars.com, maintaining and developing information for the website.
Serve as the primary liaison between local/national media and student-athletes/coaches for assigned sport(s).
Responsible for creative content on assigned sport(s) social media accounts.
Plans, organizes, and facilitates, including but not limited to, press conferences, press releases, interviews, photoshoots, written content, statistics, and game operations for assigned sport(s).
Promote student-athletes for a conference, regional, and national awards and honors.
Helps direct and implement new content for interactive and multimedia projects, working with graphics, video, and marketing.
Develops and creates recruiting materials as assigned.
Serve as spokesperson/ambassador for the Athletics Department and the University of Houston. At all times and in all settings, represent the Department and University in a way that positively reflects and grows affinity for all things UH.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Bachelors and 3 years experience.
Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed.
