The human resources coordinator plays a key role in the operation of the college's human resources department. This position will aid employees with HR related questions and requests, coordinate hiring for temporary employees, assist newly hired faculty/staff with payroll and benefit processes, maintain personnel files, etc. The human resources coordinator works closely with the Associate VP for Institutional Development to ensure HR functions are accomplished efficiently.
Coordinates hiring process for temporary employment for departments such as Ready to Work, Work and Learn, and Federal Work Study programs. Works with all college departments to hire temporary employees. Responsible for acquiring essential hiring documents (i.e., background checks, I-9s, tax documents, and pay authorizations).
Completes data entry in PeopleSoft for all temporary employment actions to ensure accurate and timely payments for temporary assignments.
Monitors Affordable Care Act (ACA) reports to ensure temporary employee benefit eligibility and track ongoing ACA participants. Provides benefit orientations to ACA eligible employees.
Process employee separations - PeopleSoft data entry, employee communication about terminal benefits and exit checklist items, communication with internal departments to terminate access and remove from distribution lists, and monitor/complete unemployment claims
Process and monitor Worker's Comp, FMLA, and ADA requests.
Monitor compliance tracking to ensure timely completion of mandatory training assignments by new hires and scheduled annual trainings. Notify employees and supervisors of non-completion.
Serves as back-up and provides additional support for HR Coordinators as needed.
Provides customer service for walk-in visitors and employees.
Completes employment verifications as requested.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education/Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (related field) and two years related experience, or equivalent.

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, etc.)
A high level of integrity with attention and care given to confidentiality.
Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with teams.
Knowledge of and experience using HRIS systems (PeopleSoft preferred) and capable of producing/customizing reports.
