The Thomaston-Upson Chamber of Commerce is seeking a dynamic, value-driven leader to serve as President/CEO and continue the organization’s path of success and relevance in our community and with our members.

The Thomaston-Upson Chamber is not a City/County Government Entity. This organization is a 501c6 that is funded by membership and fundraising events.

What are we asking of the President?
Oversee day-to-day operations of organization
Ability to quickly build rapport and trust with stakeholders
Effective representative and advocate for business and community
Demonstrated ability of working with and leading a team toward mutual goals
Strong organizational skills; high sense of urgency; and ability to successfully multi-task
Self-motivated and ability to work independently and collaboratively
Identify and create opportunities to grow membership
Support business community through innovative ideas and practices
Develop yearly budget with Board and steps to meet or exceed budget metrics
Prepare agenda and supporting documents for Board and Executive Board meetings
Develop goals and objectives with Board Members for yearly program of work
Develop goals and agenda for Committees and Events managed by position
Serve as spokesperson/face of the Chamber
Identify and develop revenue generation opportunities for programs and events
Manage staff and volunteer Chamber Board
Manage the Hotel/Motel Tax Funding as the Visitor Information Center to promote tourism for Thomaston-Upson County
Oversee all social media accounts for the Chamber by positively promoting the organization, members, and community
Send out weekly emails to Chamber members promoting upcoming events
Maintain and help manage the Chamber of Commerce webpage
Plan and Implement Chamber events
Also manage 501c3 Keep Shining Foundation
What are the basic qualifications?
PREFERRED, NOT REQUIRED
Three (3) or more years of successful leadership experience with a Chamber of Commerce is preferred.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or previous leadership of a non-profit organization, business, communications, or public relations firm will be considered.
Proven success with public relations, marketing, media relations and fundraising
Competency with social media and Microsoft Office tools
Excellent verbal and written skills
Self-starter with high level of initiative
Innovative and detail focused
Knowledge of economic development principles and branding concepts
Must live or be willing to relocate to Upson County within six (6) months of job acceptance

Salary & Benefits:
Salary is based on experience. Salary Range is $48,000-$60,000
Vacation after six (6) months of continuous service
12 Paid Holidays, including your Birthday!
Five (5) Sick Days a year that can be “banked” up to 30 days
