DBIA is looking for a leader with association marketing experience who can approach a project with a vision of the most creative angle, develop the right messaging to engage the right audience, determine the appropriate channel or platform to deliver the message and package it in a way that DBIA’s current members and prospective members will understand the value proposition.
The Associate Director of Marketing will work closely with other departments to conceptualize, plan and implement marketing campaigns that promote the value of DBIA membership and drive interest in DBIA’s national events, educational offerings, certification program and key initiatives. This person will play a key role on our team and will possess strong marketing skills.

This position reports to the Director of Strategic Communications and will have one direct report, but the communications department works as a team. This is a full-time position. DBIA operates in a hybrid telework/in-person work posture.
Primary Responsibilities:
Develops marketing plan to increase awareness of and engagement in DBIA events, education courses, certification services and products, leveraging the most appropriate channels to reach the right audiences
Reviews and/or assists in the production of all event-related marketing collateral - including presentation templates, forms, design elements, videos and multimedia show elements - checking for consistency and adherence to brand guidelines; works closely with all members of the internal communications team, outside vendors and partners to produce materials within relevant event timelines
Implements and continuously monitors email marketing strategy
Directs and occasionally serves as a back-up to designing and creating visual identities for DBIA programming and initiatives
Works closely with the Director of Strategic Communications on messaging and implementation of strategy
Works closely with the Chief Data Officer to develop baseline for metrics and to build targeted audience lists, analyze data and make necessary adjustments
Works closely with the Conference Department on developing and implementing sponsorship opportunities
Serve as point of contact for advertiser agreements
Has a keen understanding of the latest trends and insights and optimizes decision-making based on this knowledge base; continuously monitors and evaluate marketing campaigns and channel effectiveness
Requirements & Qualifications:
7 years of experience in marketing; Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Communications preferred
Previous experience in association marketing and/or marketing for the construction, architect, engineering industries preferred but not required
Demonstrated experience developing and executing marketing plans; experience delivering campaigns reaching diverse audiences preferred but not required
Proficient using Microsoft Suite, Adobe Creative Suite and various marketing software

Grace under pressure and a sense of humor are essential
