Wellesley College will be launching a major project to refresh the College website shortly and we are looking for a project manager who will work with various stakeholders to help manage various aspects of this project. This will be a 2-3 year term position reporting to the Assistant CIO, who oversees the Project Management and Business Analysis team. They will be integral in facilitating and managing the various phases related to the website design, build, and rollout of the College’s new website. This initiative will involve multiple stakeholders and vendors and work closely with Communications & Public Affairs. In parallel, Library and Technology Services will lead the creation of an intranet website for use by its students, faculty and staff and the Website Project Manager will be a member of that implementation team.
Primary Position Responsibilities:
Understand the scope and deliverables required of this project, both by vendors and by Wellesley College.
Understand the project team structure (for example: Core Team, Executive Sponsorship/Steering, stakeholder representation across campus, subject matter experts for content delivery)
Lead a core team of participants representing Communications & Public Affairs, LTS, and other departments
Maintain clear communication with project team, stakeholders, internal community, and vendors through the duration of the project
Manage and facilitate the needs of multiple stakeholders
Facilitate gathering requirements through the various web development stages:
Design/Prototype
Information Architecture
Approval of Wireframes
User Experience
Content Management/Conversion
Testing
Training (if a new tool is being used for content management)
Deployment
Support the CIO/Assistant CIO in establishing the appropriate data governance
Content Approval Workflow (Authors vs Approvers)
Manage the overall communications and change management plan in partnership with the Assistant CIO/CIO and Communications & Public Affairs.
Performance Profile:
Ability to manage the project milestones according to established schedule
Effectively track issues and resolutions
Facilitate and track decisions that need to be made
Ensure any conflicts in priorities are escalated to the Steering Committee.
Education Required:
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience Required:
3-5 years of project management experience.
Portfolio includes management of high profile engagements.
Familiarity with website development.
Skills and Abilities Required:
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Comfort with Google Apps and common office tools.
Ability to work well with a variety of groups involved and members of different levels.
Excellent communication skills.
Excellent project management skills.
Mature judgment and respect for confidentiality.
