The Sloan Program, Cornell University, invites applications for a part time (60% effort) Senior Lecturer position in the area of health administration starting mid-August 2022. This is a 12-month part-time appointment for four years with possibility of renewal. Effort may fluctuate based on teaching requirements. We seek a colleague to join our dynamic program and make strong teaching contributions in areas that support our core/foundational instruction.
The Sloan Program in Health Administration is seeking an experienced instructor with health care experience to teach multiple courses in both the residential and executive MHA (EMHA) Sloan programs. Some of the courses would be taught in-person, and some would be taught asynchronously from material created in advance with eCornell, the online learning division of Cornell University. This position will have variable course teaching load across the year, may involve other career advising and support functions, and is not a full-time position. The instructor would also develop and teach executive education programs in the Brooks School.
The mission of the Sloan Program in Health Administration is to provide highly-motivated recent college graduates (residential MHA program) and experienced health care professionals (executive MHA program) with a health care business management curriculum that allows them to develop the skills, knowledge, and leadership attributes to help lead a variety of organizations to improve health care delivery, population health, and the efficiency of the health care system. The two-year, residential Master of Health Administration (MHA) program requires 60-credits, whereas the 18-month, hybrid (80% online) Executive Master of Health Administration (EMHA) degree program requires 37 credits and attracts working professionals.
Qualifications: The successful candidate will have earned a master's degree (PhD preferred) in economics, sociology, health administration, health policy, health services research, public affairs, business, or a related discipline; ten or more years of experience working in the health care field; experience teaching professional, graduate students; evidence of ability to teach oral communication at the university level, oversee teaching assistants and internships, and develop and coordinate activities with other instructors.
This person will report to and receive supervision from the Director of the Sloan Program in Health Administration.

The Sloan Program in Health Administration is in the Jeb E. Brooks School of Public Policy at Cornell University. The Brooks School of Public Policy, launched in August 2021, harnesses the university's wide-ranging expertise in public policy teaching, research and engagement into a shared academic home. Various established policy-focused institutes and programs from across the university are aligning with the school to boost its scholarship and outreach activities and to establish new and expanded undergraduate, graduate, doctoral and professional public policy courses and degrees.
