The Interactive Media Assistant Videographer will be responsible for assisting the Videographer and Web Designer with University Marketing and Communications (UMC) video initiatives. The position will participate in all phases of video development and production, and in some instances, work directly with clients from concept to completion. This includes but is not limited to quick turnaround videos, interviews, pre-recorded shoots, developing estimates, support training, teleprompter setups, location scouting, scheduling/coordinating, editing, captioning, scripting, or other needs as determined by the Videographer and Web Designer. The Assistant Videographer will help increase UMC's video capacity in order to help recruit students, engage with key audiences, support key business goals and serve the University's mission. Further duties and responsibilities in line with the professional scope of the position may be assigned based on the needs and goals of the department.
Work conducted by the Assistant Videographer will often require time outside of normal office hours which will require a flexible schedule, including work on evenings and weekends. Candidates will be required to work in a variety of weather conditions and must be physically able to transport necessary video equipment (up to 50 pounds).

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in film/video production, cinematography, radio and television, documentary film production, photojournalism, communications, graphic design, or a closely related field to the position. 2. One (1) year (12 months) of professional work experience in areas including non-linear video editing, motion graphics, video lighting and composition, camera operation, graphics design, audio recording, video production, or a closely related professional area.
NOTE: Master’s degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year (12 months) of work experience.
-Four years of experience in video production preferred. -Proof of valid driver's license and good driving record. -Experience in all aspects of video development and thorough knowledge of video editing software: Final Cut, Adobe Premiere, After Effects or other Motion Graphics software and Adobe Creative Suite. -Preferred candidates will have familiarity with DSLR and Cinema cameras and proficiency in 3-point lighting and capturing location sound. -Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. -Good communication skills with the ability to work independently and directly with various internal and external clients.
