Position Summary:
The mission of Intercollegiate Athletics at the University of California, Irvine is to facilitate and enrich the education and personal growth of its students through their participation in competitive NCAA Division I athletics. Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Assistant Operations Manager is responsible for providing assistance with the management and preparation of the Crawford Athletic Fields, Anteater Stadium, and Vista Field. Job responsibilities include; management of all student staff; venue preparation for intercollegiate and external activities, with particular attention to the LA Rams. Game management responsibilities for hosted intercollegiate and external competitions, as assigned.

Prefer 2 years Athletic complex experience.
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Problem-solving skills; multi-task, work with frequent interruptions, and effective listener.
Basic verbal and written communication skills in the English language.
Proficiency in the use of basic computer applications relevant to job duties.
Ability to exercise sound judgment to handle sensitive and confidential information/ material with discretion.
Ability to interact diplomatically with individuals of various social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds.
Superior public relations skills, including outstanding interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships and correspondence with students, staff, faculty, visiting coaches, and Big West and NCAA officials.
Ability to plan, organize and prioritize tasks and work independently to complete assignments despite various deadlines competing requirements and changing priorities.
Preferred:
Basic knowledge of program activity and best practices.
Working knowledge of University purchasing and accounting policies.
Special Conditions Required:
Must work some nights, weekends and holidays.
