Job Summary:
The Office of the Vice Provost for Advances in Learning (VPAL) seeks a creative, collaborative Post-Production Manager (the Manager) with strong project management skills to join their Multi-Media and Production Team. Reporting to the Director of Multi-Media Development & Production (the Director), the Manager supervises and provides technical support to a team of 8-10 video editors. Additionally, the Post-Production Manager works directly with members of the Instructional Development team and videographers to create effective, high-quality, high-impact media assets for use in online learning experiences. Highly collaborative, the Post-Production Manager balances these responsibilities and competing demands inherent in production to ensure that the post-production team delivers VPAL media content on schedule.
Duties and Responsibilities: - Provides day-to-day management and support for the Department's video editors.
- Advises and mentors editors on visual storytelling and quality standards.
- Collaborates with the Director of Multi-Media Development and Production to review and provide ongoing, timely feedback on the technical and visual quality of media assets throughout all phases of production.
- Defines and applies standard operating procedures for video solutions in a consistent manner across all projects.
- Helps establish and enforce naming, formatting, and packaging processes to ensure reliable and timely delivery of VPAL media assets.
- Establishes effective and timely post-production workflows in consultation with other VPAL managers
- Ensures that multimedia, video, interactive and photographic content for VPAL courses and projects are delivered on time.
- Oversees the status of project deliverables alongside various stakeholders
- Assigns, schedules, and monitors editor projects
- Advises the Director of Multi-Media & Production on team operations, and strategy and recommends process improvements as appropriate.
- Assists on video shoot as needed
- Keeps abreast of emerging technologies and the digital landscape.
- Other duties as assigned.

Candidates MUST meet the following basic qualifications in order to be considered for this role:
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five years of related media production experience, including experience working as part of a production crew.
- Experience with Final Cut Pro X and Motion as well as familiarity with industry-standard video editing software
- Supervisory Experience
- Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing and trafficking multiple and concurrent productions
- Ability to function in and adapt appropriately to a fast-‐moving, cross-‐unit team environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with a large and diverse group of team members, partners, and stakeholders.
- Prior experience handling confidential matters with appropriate discretion
- Ability to substitute for videographers on location and in the studio, including directing camera and lighting teams
- Experience with institutes of higher education and/or online education
- Experience with managing, training, and mentoring video production teams
