Description of Work:
Creates and implements all communications plans for the organization and coordinates all Nebraska Statewide Arboretum (
NSA)-hosted events. Develops all communication campaigns including print and email, social media management and strategy, press releases, and promotion of programs and services.Writes and edits copy; manages all facets and details of event planning and promotion, including execution, logistical support, marketing efforts, invitations, registrations, and other aspects as needed. Provides detailed time and action plans when planning events with the
NSA team, ensuring all stakeholders are up to date and have relevant details. Responsible for ensuring a process for tracking timelines and performing other related duties as required or assigned.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in natural resources, communication, journalism, public relations or closely related field, plus two years' experience in communication/outreach, media relations, public relations and/or communications required. Experience participating in and coordinating team-based communication efforts essential. Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access), Photoshop, InDesign, social media (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, You Tube, etc.), and website maintenance and update skills necessary.
Preferred Qualifications:
Four years of experience in marketing, public relations, advertising, event planning or closely related field. Knowledge of natural resource topics, including gardening, native plants, and forestry. Extensive knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and data management software. Experience with digital marketing techniques. Ability to work on multiple projects with overlapping timelines. Ability to work independently. Experience with video and podcasts.
Posted Salary: $46,278/yr minimum
