POSITION SUMMARY: The Director, Data Services is the responsible party for planning, developing, and managing a shared data services for Pomona College. The Director, Data Services is responsible for the leadership, strategy, and delivery of shared data services within the Advancement Division with a focus on continuously improving data management processes; designing and testing data integrity processes; systematically building data capacity; and actively promoting data literacy to support the effective, efficient, and sustainable delivery of actionable solutions. This position is responsible for the direction and executive oversight of two employees and all the activities and services provided by them in the Advancement Services department.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, liberal arts field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Licenses/Certificates: A valid driver’s license is required or equivalent means of reliable transportation to off-site meetings and events.
Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of advancement services, fundraising, sales, communications, or related experience is required. 2 years of previous experience using enterprise donor database and/or customer relationship management (CRM) software (e.g., Raiser’s Edge), e-marketing and online giving platforms (e.g., Blackbaud NetCommunity), business reporting (e.g., Cognos), interactive dashboard/visual analysis tools (e.g., Tableau), and/or database administration (e.g., SQL, SSIS, etc.) at a major academic or nonprofit institution is strongly preferred.
REQUIRED HOURS: The regular hours for this full-time position are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday. Holiday, weekend and evening work hours will be required. Travel to visit constituents and to staff events will be required. Regular hours may vary due to needs of the College or division.
