DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
Risk and Safety Services (RSS) is a multi-operational unit within the Business and Administrative Services Division of the University of California, Santa Cruz. RSS delivers a wide variety of programs and services to support campus wide safety and emergency response for incident management. Departments include; Risk Services, Environmental Health and Safety, Office of Emergency Services, Transportation and Parking Services and University Police.
Develops, implements and administers compliance policies, procedures and practices at UC Santa Cruz. Provides compliance advice, investigates complaints and verifies that deficiencies are corrected. Develops employee communication and training. Ensures alignment with federal and state laws, and University policies and procedures. Provides advice and direction to other compliance professionals, as appropriate. Receives general instructions on routine work with detailed instruction on new or more complex assignments. Performs the full scope of auditing encompassing Clery compliance.
The Clery Compliance and Accreditation Specialist (CCAS) has a direct reporting line to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Risk and Safety Services. The CCAS works collaboratively with various units at UC Santa Cruz and outside agencies to ensure the institution's compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (the
