Job Description:
The mission of the Marketing and Public Relations Department is to advance the reputation and brand of Anoka-Ramsey Community College and Anoka Technical College through a range of marketing communications tools and strategies that support the colleges' mission and strategic priorities.
The Interactive Media Coordinator position increases public awareness and promotes enrollment at Anoka-Ramsey Community College and Anoka Technical College. This position develops, manages and executes various marketing and communications projects and events that support the marketing plan and client requests. This includes developing the digital and written content for various brand and creative assets including digital advertising, video production, and content for both colleges' websites, social media, photography and print collateral. This position will work closely with internal clients to ensure accurate messaging is distributed.
This position will have responsibilities for all 3 campuses. The home campus will be on the Anoka-Ramsey Community College Rapids Campus with some traveling between the Cambridge Campus and the Anoka Tech Campus required. The position will primarily be virtual/remote, but the employee may be required to come to campus for training, specific meetings, special events, video/photography or other office needs.
Required Qualifications:
- At least two years of professional working experience and knowledge of marketing and communications principles and strategies to implement effective marketing and promotion. Knowledge should be in the areas of website content management, public relations, advertising, marketing, graphic design, digital communications including various social media platforms, printing, editing, and/or proofreading.
- At least two years professional working knowledge of Microsoft office and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Video production experience sufficient to prepare storyboard, interview, shoot, edit to capture college events, student/alumni/faculty profiles, and other videos to be used across various mediums.
- Critical thinking skills including the ability to solve various problems including meet internal client expectations while coordinating and executing multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated commitment and success working in a diverse and multi-cultural and multi-racial community.
- Written communication skills sufficient to write persuasively and effectively to fit the communication medium and targeted audience.
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Mass Communications, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Digital storytelling experience sufficient to research, interview, write, and present compelling and engaging student, alumni, other stories across various mediums.
- Event organizing experience sufficient to plan, support, and promote collegewide events.
- Ability to understand the college's mission, vision, strategic plan and programs and to integrate information into marketing materials for targeted audiences.
Other Requirements:
In accordance with the Minnesota State Colleges & Universities (MnSCU) Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to MnSCU's vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
