The Corporate Reputation & Financial Communications Leader will be responsible for helping Equitable advance its business goals and objectives by effectively contributing to and supporting corporate, financial and business communications and safeguarding reputational risk. This role is responsible for holding company communications, including collaboration with senior executives from the finance, law, risk and strategy teams, to tell Equitable's corporate and financial story to a broad group of stakeholders. The role reports directly to the Head of Corporate Communications and will require interfacing closely with members of the senior leadership and colleagues across the company as part of a highly collaborative communications leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
* In partnership with the Finance, Investor Relations, M&A, Treasury and Office of the CFO teams, communicate key messages and Equitable's financial profile and investment thesis to a broad group of stakeholders including media, employees and the public at large.
* Proactively work with colleagues to prepare planning and communications materials for unforeseen events related to risk, reporting, regulatory or disclosure matters which could impact the firm's reputation.
* Work with leaders across finance, risk, ESG, DEI, strategy and legal organizations and business areas to drive our broader corporate narrative through new channels and leadership platforms.
* Distill complex financial information and concepts for external audiences; create press releases, messaging documents, Q&As, thought leadership and other related materials to help tell a compelling corporate story to drive valuation.
* Work closely with counterparts in government relations and accounting to stay abreast of regulatory and policy changes that may impact the company's operations or reporting; develop internal and external communications plans including press approach to help meet desired objectives.
* Support financial announcements and aligning with colleagues around key corporate events, such as regular quarterly earnings, investor and analyst days, annual proxy shareholder meetings and related corporate transactions.
* Serve as a trusted spokesperson and resource for members of the news media; build and foster relationships with key business and financial journalists and editors.
* Support and meet measurable goals and KPIs for communications programs.

Skills required to ensure success include

Qualifications
Qualifications
* MBA a plus; Bachelor's degree in related field required
* 7-10 years of demonstrated experience in external/corporate, financial communications within the financial services or insurance industry
* Public company experience with proven background effectively collaborating as a trusted leader to senior management
* Self-starter and confident decisionmaker who takes initiative, identifies challenges and proactively works to solve them
* Experience successfully navigating a variety of stakeholder interests including press, shareholders, investors, analyst, Board/governance audiences, clients and employees
* Expertise in managing highly sensitive, confidential, material information, and adeptly managing issues and crisis situations
* Multifaceted professional who is equally at ease building strategic plans as well as implementing tactical programs
* Deep experience in internal and external executive communications, such as memos, speeches, op[1]eds and presentations
* Collaborative and inclusive individual who has experience successfully building communications programs from the ground up
* Demonstrated financial and business acumen, including insurance, financial services and wealth management knowledge and understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements
* Significant and successful top-tier media relations skills
* Strong leadership and consultative skills
* Exemplary judgement, superb writing and verbal communications skills
