Job Summary:
The assistant director, design is responsible for designing visual assets that support the strategic communications needs of University Advancement (UA), with an emphasis on designing for digital channels. This position is part of the UA Marketing Communications and Technology team and reports to the associate director, design.
University Advancement is the fundraising and alumni relations division for the university, and our in-house marcom team helps engage Miami's alumni/donors through a variety of in-person events and virtual experiences, digital and social media channels, content creation, publications and promotional marketing materials. It’s a fast-paced, highly collaborative work environment in a quintessential college campus setting in Oxford, Ohio.

Duties/Physical Demands:
- Under direction of the associate director, design, assists in design for websites, email, social media, videos, and multimedia graphics.
• Works in collaboration with the director, digital services for implementation and front-end development as needed for email marketing and website updates.
• Collaborates with digital team members to strategize and create engaging visual assets for social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter.
• Designs within the parameters of the Anthology/iModules CMS tool and other digital channels and platforms, including Emma and the WordPress blog platform, among others.
• Also assigned projects for print collateral and video and may also create original artwork, as needed, for University Advancement publications, while working within both the division and university brand frameworks and guidelines.
• Adhere to a fast-paced, multi-client production schedule to ensure timely delivery of creative for client deadlines.
• Art direct photography and video production shoots as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or three years of graphic design experience.
Desired Qualifications:
- Degree in graphic design, visual communications, advertising, interactive media or related fields.
