The Southern California Clinical and Translational Science Institute (SC CTSI) is a multifaceted resource for clinical and community-partnered translational research. The Communications group is responsible for event/service promotion, stakeholder engagement, marketing and PR campaigns, and highlighting success stories and initiatives from SC CTSI-supported researchers.
We are seeking a Marketing Coordinator to support the Associate Director of Communications with digital participant recruitment, marketing, PR, social media and stakeholder engagement. The candidate will lead and coordinate internal and external communication efforts, design and creation of branded assets, and coordinate promotion/marketing within and outside of the CTSI. In addition, the candidate will also assist with scheduling, administrative tasks and special projects.
The proportion of effort devoted to each component can change at any time depending on business needs.
Required Skills:
- Organization: Superb organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Technological proficiency: Candidate must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Canva, InDesign, Photoshop, etc.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication is needed to ensure collaboration and execution of initiatives.
- Marketing/Branding/PR: Skills associated with event/product promotion, marketing, branding, public relations and advertising required.
- Creativity: High level of creativity and innovativeness.
- Collaboration: Strong history of collaboration and ability to work successfully with different types of people across various groups and organizations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Creates and designs print materials such as flyers and brochures for promotion of services, programs and events within SC CTSI. Owns the branded assets for the Institute and updates them frequently.
- Develops, writes and disseminates email campaigns for internal and external events and monthly newsletters.
- Assists with media relations and pitching.
- Manages all email listservs.
- Assists with digital participant recruitment services.
- Writes ad copy, social media messages and content in laymanâs terms.
- Responsible for planning, generating, posting and tracking metrics for social media promotional content.
- Responsible for coordinating and planning SC CTSI Communications meetings; assisting Associate Director of Communications with carrying out initiatives derived from meetings.
- Assists with planning, implementing and staffing events to promote SC CTSI resources and services.
- Interfaces with investigators, study staff, administrators and other personnel to inform them about SC CTSI services.
- Updates SC CTSI website.
- Assists Associate Director of Communications with various initiatives as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Responsible for coordinating and scheduling program-related meetings and events.
- Office supply ordering.
- Meeting scheduling, set-up and takedown.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. The university reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.
Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree.
