What you will be doing in this role:
The Communications Specialist develops and implements critical communications plans and activities to promote and support Cedars-Sinai’s Human Resources (HR) initiatives. The Communications Specialist plays a key role in identifying strategic, innovative news, feature and communications ideas for various internal communications channels; writes and develops stories, collateral materials and other content; edits written materials; works with the visuals team to manage and assign photos; and assists in the production of internal publications and updates. The Communications Specialist works closely with the Director of Internal Communications and HR leaders and partners to assist with employee-facing organizational HR communications initiatives and special projects, including support of communications campaigns, creation of strategic presentations and decks, development of FAQs and talking points, writing of memos and announcements, and support of other HR projects.
The Communications Specialist collaborates with Internal Communications colleagues to effectively represent HR’s priorities and needs in the context of larger internal communications strategies. The Communication Specialist also collaborates with others in Marketing and Communications, Human Resources and with other Cedars-Sinai programs, staff and faculty, to implement projects.
Writes, edits and publishes content for Cedars-Sinai staff to support Human Resources programs, projects, and events
Develops communication plans; coordinates the design and production of communication materials, collaterals, giveaways, etc.
Develops and maintains strong relationships with cross-functional partners to effectively plan and complete appropriate communications support
Manages projects from development to completion; creates project production schedules and timelines; manages project budgets and invoices, including check requests and invoice payments, as necessary.
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Health, Marketing, Public/Media Relations or a relevant field of study required.
Minimum of 3 years of experience writing, editing, delivering in-depth content, project management or Human Resources related communications experience required.
Minimum of 7 years prior communications or administrative experience related to public relations/media relations, journalism, marketing or Human Resources preferred.
