Under the direction of the Director of Athletics, the Sr. Associate AD, Creative Services & Athletic Communications is responsible for all facets of the Athletic Department's creative services and communication office. This position is responsible for developing strategic plans to promote our 31 sport programs using creative content, social media strategy and effective communications processes. This position is responsible for generating media coverage, monitoring and managing adverse media and crafting and integrating public relations strategies for Boston College Athletics. This position will oversee all social media, graphics design, creative video and sports information functions for Boston College Athletics.
Comprehensive and in-depth knowledge of social media, communication, public affairs, media and/or marketing theories and concepts in order to develop and execute communication strategies and plans to promote and position BC Athletics. Superior writing, editing and proofreading skills with the ability to present information clearly and creatively. Demonstrated ability to be a skillful editor and writer with excellent new media writing and journalism skills. Strong organizational skills to professionally manage multiple tasks simultaneously with a positive attitude. Ability to work with confidential information and handle sensitive issues. Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple competing tasks and priorities. Ability to manage people and resources in a collaborative team-based environment. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills. Thorough knowledge and understanding of NCAA Division I rules, practices, policies, philosophy and procedures, particularly in the areas of communication. Bachelor's Degree required. Master's Degree preferred. Minimum of 7 years of full-time professional experience in public affairs, media relations, media, marketing and/or market research to include a minimum of 4 years at the supervisory level. Expert knowledge of University communication objectives and ability to translate them into effective communication and media campaigns Excellent collaboration and listening skills Strong verbal and written skills. Excellent organization, interpersonal and self-management skills Ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple projects Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
