The mission of the Marketing and Public Relations Department is to advance the reputation and brand of Anoka-Ramsey Community College and Anoka Technical College through a range of marketing communications tools and strategies that support the colleges' mission and strategic priorities.
The Creative Director/Communications Project Manager is responsible for advanced-level, professional work developing marketing collateral, website content, public relations communications, and digital communications materials to meet objectives and action items of Anoka-Ramsey Community College and Anoka Technical College's strategic plan and marketing plan. The responsibilities of the position include serving as a project ideation and execution lead, creative writer for various promotional materials (print and electronic) that contain broad public interest and increase public awareness in the community served by both colleges.
You will serve as the lead production coordinator for several college projects that involve a various vendors, staff, faculty and students from across the college. You will coordinate the preparation and dissemination of public information through media press release, websites, social media, and digital signage. In this position, you will be responsible for collaboratively establishing processes, standards and training materials to support the use of new and emerging technologies to communicate on behalf of both colleges. You will work closely with graphic designers, marketing and public relations team, college leaders, faculty, staff, students and various vendors to prepare effective communications to meet the needs of target audiences.
Demonstrated commitment and success working in a diverse and multi-cultural and multi-racial community.
At least two years of professional working experience and knowledge of marketing and communications principles and strategies. Knowledge should be in the areas of website content management, public relations, advertising, marketing, digital communications including various social media platforms, printing, editing, proofreading and/or event organizing.
Interpersonal skills sufficient to work as part of a team and consult with groups to plan and gain support for various projects/promotional efforts.
Written communication skills sufficient to write persuasively and effectively to fit the communication medium and targeted audience.
Critical thinking skills including the ability to solve various problems including meeting internal client expectations while coordinating and executing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously to meet deadlines.
At least two years professional working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Mass Communications, or related field
Digital storytelling experience in order to share constituent experiences in various mediums
Video production experience in order to produce content for various formats
Event organizing experience sufficient to lead and execute small and large events
Ability to understand college's mission, vision, strategic plan, and programs, and integrate information into marketing materials for targeted audiences

Anoka-Ramsey Community College (ARCC) is a multi-campus institution and a member of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system. The Coon Rapids Campus is located on the banks of the Mississippi River twentymiles north of downtown Minneapolis. The Cambridge Campus is located on west Highway 95 on the Rum River in Cambridge. Beginning in 1965 with 600 students in a wing of Centennial High School in Circle Pines, Anoka-Ramsey Community College has grown considerably. In 1967 the college moved to the current Coon Rapids Campus of approximately 103 acres. The Cambridge Campus opened in 1978 and has shown consistent growth in enrollment and facilities. In addition, students may complete many ARCC college courses at convenient off-site locations throughout neighboring communities. During the 2008-2009 academic year, more than 11,000 students completed credit classes at the college.
