Summary of Duties:
The Conference Manager is responsible for the following:
- Manage and supervise all program delivery personnel (Conference Managers and Conference Coordinators).
- Development of new programs and the strengthening of existing programs through knowledge of the constituencies served, the marketplace, and the content of the programs.
- Implementation of these programs in the most efficient, cost effective, and professional manner.
- Development and implementation of programs requires many skills and the assumption of many responsibilities. Among them are: contract negotiation, marketing, financial management, public relations, administrative and supervisory responsibilities, and organizational skills.
Positions require a Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of experience in developing and administering non-credit educational programs, conferences and events, or marketing, including at least one (1) year of supervisory experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. A Master's degree in a related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.
Must have or be able to obtain at time of hire, a valid driver's license
Position may require evening and weekend work and travel.
Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, oral and written communications skills.
Demonstrated project management skills.
Demonstrated computer proficiency including experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Masters Degree in Communications, Hospitality Business Management , Public Relations, Marketing, Higher Education or other closely related field.
Experience developing and managing budgets.
Experience with web editor software.
An additional 2 years of experience developing and administering non-credit educational programs, conferences and events.
An additional 1 year of supervisory experience.
