The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) School of Medicine - Anatomy and Neurobiology is recruiting for an Academic Services Coordinator . The incumbent in this position will provide administrative support to a basic science department. This includes preparing detailed appointment packets and annual renewal letters for the faculty; volunteer appointments and postdoctoral fellows; procurement; and financial budgeting. The incumbent in this position must have accurate data entry skills and the ability to self-teach.

Adhere to policy documents including standard operation procedures, presentations, and other procedural information.
Performs daily administrative duties related to procurement, appointments for faculty, postdoctoral fellows and volunteers, purchase orders, UMB procard, work orders, places service calls for office and research equipment, financial budgeting, liaison for public affairs, manages the seminar program and takes minutes at the monthly faculty meetings.
Identify and assist in the development of future business process changes to administrative unit. Ensure effective use of resources within department.
Manages reimbursement requests and travel management for administrative unit's department, including procurement card purchases, initiating purchase requisitions, and processing travel reimbursements. Determines client needs from analysis and designs procurement methodology. Prepares travel journal entries and reviews travel expenditures.
Apply knowledge of human resource transactions to administrative unit needs and processes. Manages and attends to confidential matters of employment, credentialing, and records management processes for the administrative unit.
Performs accounts receivable and payable activities in accordance to Generally Acceptable Accounting Principles ensuring unit budget is balanced.
Serve as a liaison between unit and Financial Services, Dean's Office, and Strategic Sourcing and Acquisition Services.
Responds to inquiries with accurate and policy supported information.
Independently manages and administers programs, processes, projects, or resources.
Contacts appropriate resources when unable to find factual support for answers.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Management or related field.
Experience: Two (2) years of related administrative experience in which program coordination is the primary responsibility.

Hiring Range: $45,000 - $50,000
