Job Summary:

The Department of Communication is seeking to fill an Associate Professor position in the area of Applied Communication.

This individual will teach primarily in the undergraduate program in Communication at FDU's Metropolitan Campus in Teaneck, NJ, and the nationally recognized Master of Arts Program in Communication. We are seeking a colleague whose teaching and research focuses on the application of communication to real world situations, problems, and contexts.

Required Qualifications:

The successful applicant will be expected to take a leading role in the creation of the curriculum for an Applied Communication concentration for students at the Metropolitan Campus, where we seek to specialize and develop excellence in this area. Therefore, experience in curriculum development and department leadership is desired.

The applicant would also be expected to teach relevant courses in closely related areas such as digital media, mass communication, interpersonal communication, advertising, or public relations, according to their research area of interest and departmental need.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate a commitment to undergraduate education and advising, teaching effectiveness, scholarship, and service. Experience with on-line teaching is also sought. A PhD in communication o relate fields is required.

Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
