The Roux Institute marketing team seeks an experienced, versatile, creative Copywriter to concept and create sharp, sophisticated marketing content across a variety of platforms. This position will be part of a team of brand storytellers, working closely with the design team and marketing strategists to develop campaign concepts, digital assets, campaign emails, website copy, short profiles, and copy to support events.
Responsibilities: This position is based at the Roux Institute in Portland, Maine. But you'll be part of a larger team of writers and content strategists reporting to the Managing Editor on the content team within Northeastern University's central Marketing department in the Office of External Affairs in Boston. This reporting structure will allow you to collaborate and grow within your discipline and to become immersed in the Northeastern brand, while remaining plugged into the activities and content needs of the Roux Institute. Occasional travel to Boston may be required.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and/or a master's degree, in English, journalism, creative writing, poetry, public relations, or a related field. 3-5 years of experience writing and editing for a large organization or for an advertising/marketing agency. Ideal candidate must be able to understand the brand and translate that into compelling copy that speaks to our audiences across their journey and drives them into action, whether that be requesting more information about graduate programs, engaging in a partnership exploration, or getting involved with our entrepreneurship initiatives.
This position is a fit for someone who loves words and design and thrives thinking creatively about how to bring an idea to life. Candidate must be comfortable writing across channelsespecially digitaland adapting to a range of tones and styles. The role requires attention to detail, an ability to thrive in a fast-moving start-up environment, and a deep curiosity about a range of subjects and the writing craft itself.
