Specialized and skilled leader for a non-credited physical education program. Creates and implements physical education programming for participants, may serve as a lead or mentor for other program instructors and may be required to provide instruction. Program instructors at this level are required to demonstrate considerable discretion, initiative and independence to resolve issues and perform other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES 60% Plans, organizes and implements physical education programming
10% Schedules use of recreational facilities and advises and assists individuals and groups with problems related to scheduled athletics and recreation activities.
5% Implements program policies and procedures.
5% Maintains files, records and prepares reports as necessary.
5% Ensures compliance with assigned budget.
3% Keeps current on instructional methods, techniques and skills through continuing education.
3% Oversees inventory, storage, budget and maintenance of physical education equipment.
3% Participates in required professional development activities.
3% Assists with appropriate public relations and promotional programs.
3% Reports safety issues to appropriate personnel and recommends improvements.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent certification preferred.
Client service minded, entrepreneurial spirit.
Highly effective verbal communication skills in the English language.
Highly effective written communication skills in the English language.
Proficiency in the use of basic computer applications relevant to job duties.
Ability to learn and apply campus policies and procedures.
Specialized knowledge of program activity and industry best practices.
Sound judgment and decision-making, critical thinking, development of original ideas, and creative problem solving skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively across the organization, internally and externally.
Leadership skills to successfully lead and manage a recreational program.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Special Conditions
Selected candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment criminal history background check.
Ability to work occasional weekends, as needed.
Will be required to complete Title IX (Sexual Harassment) training every two years.
