Under the direction of the Manager of Member Services, perform community, member, and public relation related activities, such as assisting with the development of communication material including the co-op magazine, employee newsletter, news articles, and updating social media sites.
Develop new material to ensure content is current on the NEMEPA website, as well as the intranet page.
Represent North East in civic and related community organizations throughout the cooperative service territory, demonstrating goodwill and the presence of the Cooperative in its communities.
Develop, research, and prepare educational programs for local schools and other civic groups.
Assist the Manager of Member Services to develop advertisement material for radio, newspaper, and other advertising mediums.
Promote a positive work environment to maximize employee morale, enthusiasm, and retention through the planning of employee activities/functions, as well as Member and retiree appreciation days, retirement dinners, holiday meals, and other events.
Support programs such as NRECA’s Youth Tour.
Work with the Manager of Members Services to create and maintain on-going business relationships with the Cooperative’s Key Accounts.
Support organization's core businesses through research and analysis of member data
Responsible for following all safety policies, rules, and procedures.
Performs other duties as directed by the General Manager/CEO.
High School graduate or equivalent; Preference given to Associate’s Degree in related field. Minimum of three years related experience required. Any combination of education and experience that would provide the required skills and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying.
Must have excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. Decisions and duties are regularly reviewed and have an impact on Cooperative operations.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from members, employees, and general public.
Demonstrated abilities and skills operating a personal computer using Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Suite applications to include Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and to set priorities using good organizational skills.
Strong customer orientation with a desire to work in a team environment.
Ability to maintain confidentiality with all business data.
