Position directs the activities of the clinical office, supervises, coordinates and provides leadership functions in conjunction with faculty practice manager. Oversees personnel matters, maintains reports and acts as liaison between practice site and division business staff. Responsible for maintaining optimal staffing practices.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Supervises activities of the clinical office. Reviews, assists, promotes and maintains development of office policies and procedures, office practices, and clinical flow patterns.
Coordinates patient services with physicians and staff to provide quality care in an effective manner.
Functions as working supervisor by filling in to cover front desk, medical records and billing functions.
Directs, assigns and coordinates activities and duties of staff, evaluating performance, orienting new staff, and advising administration of changes.
Supervises onsite copay collections and charge entry functions as well as collaborates with Physician Billing Services on patient accounts and payer matters.
Maintains job descriptions for practice site positions, participates and assists in the interviewing of employees, acts to resolve personnel problems, prepares and approves staff schedules.
Assists in preparation and distribution of monthly reports such as financial reports, census, flow analysis and other requested reports.
Conducts regularly scheduled staff meetings and attends practice sit division meetings as requested.
Promotes and maintains good public relations with patients/families.
Maintains and updates physician schedules in EPIC as needed. Facilitates access to EPIC training and support as needed.
Facilitates educational opportunities for staff to ensure compliance with hospital, medical school and regulatory guidelines.
Monitors supplies and equipment, ordering/repairing as required.
Assists faculty practice manager and practice administration with strategic planning and generation of business plan.
Assists faculty practice manager with overall quality improvement strategy, collects, measures and interprets operational and clinical income data: identifying problems and organizing teams to develop and implement solutions; develop formal policy as indicated.
RN/MA or clinical experience.
Experience in leadership role and working knowledge of physician office practice setting, preferably in Internal medicine or primary care.
Familiar with the billing and scheduling information systems, preferably EPIC.
Excellent collaborative, customer service and organizational skills.
Experience with electronic medical record desirable.
Experience with new or start-up practices is beneficial.
Demonstrated communication, organization, leadership and interpersonal skills.
Consultancy Skills: Ability to consult with clients on issues and requests that require the implementation or creation of a custom solution.
Equivalent of a bachelorâ™s degree.
Minimum of two years of physician practice management experience.
$63,300.00 - $98,200.00 / AnnuallyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
