The Director, Communication and Events is one of the senior leaders in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and is charged with strategizing a vision for outreach, recruitment and engagement with prospective students and other key stakeholders who are influential in recruiting undergraduate students to Yeshiva University. The Director will be charged with supervising the recruitment and outreach team, conceiving and executing programming, and fostering positive relationships with feeder schools, religious personalities, and other parties who can have a positive impact on recruitment to YU.
Create a strategic recruitment and outreach plan encompassing communications, events, outreach, multiple touch points and activities
Oversee travel schedule to feeder schools and communities
Work with Marketing and Communication on creation and maintenance of recruitment collateral pieces and items
Develop programming for parents and alumni who can assist/aid in the recruitment process
Work with admissions staff on selection and use of Student Ambassadors
Work with Marketing and Communication on Email Marketing, Social Media Engagement, and creation of other forms of recruitment media
Oversee the planning and execution of annual fall open houses and explore the launching of spring open houses
Oversee the planning and execution of YU's Model UN (YUNMUN) program, exploring both in person and virtual engagement opportunities
Oversee the Sarachek basketball tournament
Supervise the undergraduate international recruiter, overseeing expenses, travel, goals and yield
Schedule frequent content sessions, ie: online information sessions, financing your education, etc.
Manage recruitment calendar
Work with guidance counselors to develop and further cultivate partnerships, including hosting annual guidance counselor information sessions and professional development opportunities
Create yield events both on and off campus, as well as virtual yield engagements
Oversee recruitment mailings to prospective students, guidance counselors and heads of school
Create YU in Your Town events, working with YU personalities on ways to better engage and foster relationships within communities
Partner with academic affairs to stay knowledgeable of academic programs, success stories, and innovations
Partner with Student Finance to ensure prompt packaging of admitted students and follow up
Work with operations on the timely processing of applications and supplemental items
Work with data team to ensure CRM Recruit is up to date, with all communications being timely, relevant, and applicable
Work at other campuses in NYC, as needed
Experience & Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree required and 5 years of related experience is required
Must have thorough and working knowledge of high school recruitment, strategies and best practices
Have an understanding and/or appreciation of the modern Orthodox community
