Detailed Job Description The division is seeking to hire a Multimedia Writer who will be responsible to elevate RIT's brand through writing and editing content in support of RIT's marketing objectives. This includes:
Writing and editing marketing copy that attracts diverse audiences via a range of marketing platforms, including websites, print and digital ads, print collateral, blog posts, video and audio scripts, and more.
Working with multiple departments within the division and the university to support various copy and marketing needs.
Developing a good understanding of key RIT audiences and writing creative content to differentiate the university in the marketplace - especially as it relates to prospective students
Promoting RIT as a welcoming and accepting community, especially for AALANA groups.

RITs Division of Marketing and Communications is responsible for strategically enhancing the reputation of the university. Our mission is to tell the story of RIT to the world: The university is shaping the future and improving the world through creativity and innovation at the intersection of technology, the arts, and design. The division coordinates marketing and communications activities for the university in an effort to unify RIT through a consistent and cohesive messaging platform. The integrated team of storytellers leads the university in areas such as: branding, marketing communications, public relations, media relations, website design and development, print production, multimedia writing and design, photography, video production, social media, and analytics.
Required Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in journalism, marketing, English, new media, or a related field with 1-2 years of experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to think both creatively and strategically
Ability to effectively manage time and to prioritize competing deadlines while juggle multiple requests simultaneously
Responds well under pressure
Quick and enthusiastic learner
Passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion
