Acts as main contact and liaison for gift officers with the Deanâ™s Office; manages the scheduling, briefing and debriefing process with the dean.Â Organizes the deanâ™s domestic travel for advancement and coordinates with the Global Advancement team on the deanâ™s international travel.Â
Manages the production of background briefings and meeting strategy documents for gift officers. Composes strategy briefings and visit reports on gift officersâ™ and advancement leadershipâ™s behalf.Â Ensures the timely production and transmittal of the deanâ™s correspondence with principal gift prospects.
Manipulates and analyzes data to integrate information from Griffin, Community Directory, CRM, and other databases into various reports/summaries.Â Creates reports from scratch related to alumni and prospects; assures appropriate information is captured in all applicable donor files and in Griffin.
In collaboration with the Prospect Management team, shares relevant reports to assist gift officers in active prospect management. Updates Griffin, the alumni and donor database of records, by creating prospect actions and maintaining solicitation data, strategy, and next steps.Â
Assists Midwest gift officers in reaching visit goals by helping with trip planning and tracking, as well as conducting visit outreach for gift officersâ™ qualification meetings.
Leads the planning and execution of Midwest-based advancement events and contributes to the strategic development of new events and programs; staffs events as needed. Manages event follow-up with attendees and identifies potential new prospects.
Participates in prospect strategy development as it relates to prospect qualification, cultivation, stewardship, etc. Assists in the preparation of prospect briefings, travel agendas and materials for gift officers, deans, and Chicago Booth leadership.
In conjunction with the Development Associates in New York and San Francisco, continues to build and manage a set of communication pieces (fundraiser toolkit) to enable the frontline work of gift officers on the major gift and leadership giving teams. Assists in producing a set of internal communications for the Individual Giving Teams. Partners cross-functionally with the Communications and the Centers Teams.
Has a moderate/solid understanding of fundraising operations for a school or department of the University. Identifies budget requirements and staffing needs on a project or event basis.
Cultivates and maintains relationships with donors and volunteers. Establishes and maintains donor records and accounts.
Performs other related work as needed.
A minimum one year of work experience in nonprofit management, development, alumni relations, marketing, public relations, or similar work.
Technical Skills or Knowledge:
Learn and manipulate Booth databases.
Interest in pursuing a career in development.
A strong commitment to customer service, proven track record of problem solving, and the ability to manage multiple projects and relationships.
Excellent analytical skills.
Strong verbal and writing skills, high attention to detail and follow-up, and excellent organizational skills.
Demonstrated skill and knowledge of, or ability to quickly learn the internal workings of the University and the technology tools available to Chicago Booth staff, including Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
