The Office of Government Relations is seeking an Assistant Director of Government Relations. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position.
This position supports Oregon State University's government relations efforts as the university works with elected and appointed local, state, and federal government officials. This position reports to the Executive Director and works in coordination with the executive director and federal relations director to develop and execute key advocacy efforts, communications, programs and events for the Government Relations Office.

The Government Relations Office represents Oregon State University in the governmental process by building and maintaining relationships between the university and various civic, government, and political communities.
Typically requires Bachelor's degree in field related to assigned responsibilities. Experience developing and engaging in strategic partnerships with external stakeholders.
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
At least three years of experience in office administration, interpreting data, policy analysis, and/or legislative tracking.
Demonstrated knowledge of state and federal governmental structures and processes.
Demonstrated knowledge of public university organizational structure and processes.
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Established record of effective, professional interactions with colleagues, supervisors, senior leadership and others.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including word and excel.
Demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity, equity and inclusion.
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Criminal History Check and be determined to be position qualified as per OAR 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in Youth Programs may have additional Criminal History Checks every 24 months.
This position requires driving a university vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the university; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per University Policy 05-030.
This position at times requires a work schedule outside of a typical office environment, including instate travel and non-standard hours.
