The Associate Director, Web Operations leads and manages the design, development, delivery, maintenance, and support of interactive media and the web-based presence of Columbia College. The Associate Director closely collaborates with the Associate Director, Web Creative, and the Collegeâ€™s Communications unit, contributing to all web-based media and projects that affect the College. The Associate Director is responsible for the design and implementation of public and management interfaces, as well as server-side functions. The incumbent works closely with the Associate Director, Web Creative to translate designs into code to produce websites and applications maintained by CCIT.
This position works with both the Executive Director and Associate Director, Web Creative to plan and execute new websites and web publishing tools to fulfill the needs of the College. The incumbent shares responsibility with the Associate Director, Web Creative for managing the Web Development group. The Associate Director, Web Operations is responsible for the management of all operational and project management based activities within the Web Development group.

Operations and Project Management
Works closely with the Executive Director, CCIT; Director, Software Development; Director, Systems and Infrastructure; Associate Director, Web Creative, and Director, Strategic Communications, to develop, implement, and manage all aspects of the Collegeâ€™s strategic plan for interactive media with the goals of presenting a consistent, unified, and coherent user experience and of enhancing and furthering the Collegeâ€™s mission.
Serves as project and operational manager for web development initiatives projects, implementations, builds, and maintenance.
Supports the Technology Advisory Committee (TAC) by actively helping to organize sessions, facilitate inter-unit collaboration, and identify projects that are necessary to meet the strategic priorities and mission of the College.
Collaborates with internal clients representing College units and departments to understand their business models and goals to help define strategy, content and features for design of their websites and/or applications.
Partners with external agencies and vendors, in collaboration with College units and departments, on web and digital media based products as necessary.
Develops detailed user interface documents, mock-ups, and prototypes to provide a greatly enhanced and usable series of applications.
Acts as liaison to, and works with, various internal and external technology, communications, and public relations functions in the conception, execution and maintenance of projects undertaken by CCIT.
Manages needs assessment, analysis of system designs, information architecture, graphical user interface designs, usability testing, and evaluative controls of web/web-based technologies statistics.
Manages several converging projects with different timeframes and deliverables.
Monitor, maintain, and improve website stability, performance, and security.
Maintain all aspects of Drupal instances within the Collegeâ€™s infrastructure.
Create, modify, test, and maintain custom Drupal modules and themes.
Serve as project manager for all Drupal instance creation and maintenance and custom web development.
Partner with the systems and infrastructure team to test and deploy web-based hosting and infrastructure requirements.
Work closely with College units and departments towards the creation and maintenance of new and existing web properties.

A bachelor's degree or its equivalent is required.
A minimum of three to five years of related experience is required.
Expert knowledge of front-end development, including experience with modern build tools (dependency management, automation) and practices.
Experience developing custom themes and modules for the Drupal content management system (CMS) in accordance with Drupal best practices.
Demonstrated understanding of basic graphic design principles.
Outstanding attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under short and changing deadlines, while ensuring timely and accurate execution.
Excellent analytical, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to exercise sound judgement, discretion and tact in a professional setting.
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

Understanding of computer science concepts such as object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms.
Experience with source code versioning, preferably git.
Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud.
