The Assistant Director of Prospect Prospect Research is a senior member of the Prospect Research team responsible for partnering with fundraisers to provide prospect identification and research services throughout the fundraising cycle. This position provides leadership to research staff, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to other team members in areas related to prospect research. The Assistant Director will work closely with the Director of Prospect Research to coordinate research efforts and ensure deliverables meet the needs of fundraisers. The position will also have responsibilities for prospect identification and research according to departmental needs.
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education: Master's Degree
Required Experience: 5+ years prospect development experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Understanding of the full range of prospect development functions and fundraising in a complex environment
Preferred Experience: 5+ years related experience at a large, urban university
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Strong analytical, written and verbal communications skills. Familiarity with word processing, spreadsheet, and database software including experience with relational and online databases. Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritizing work and managing multiple, diverse, and competing priorities while meeting deadlines.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: In-depth knowledge of prospect research techniques. Strategic, creative thinker with excellent prioritization and multi-tasking skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with different audiences, including researchers, fundraisers and senior-level administration.
