The College of Business is seeking a Assistant Director of Advancement: Engagement & Strategy. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position.
The Assistant Director of Advancement: Engagement & Strategy is responsible for providing leadership for College of Business' strategic volunteer engagement programs and external engagement activities.
This position must successfully and strategically execute on all aspects of events & programs, from conception, planning, budgeting, management, coordination, post-event/program assessment, analysis for effectiveness, data reporting, and trend identification.
This position supports the overall objective of the advancement team to engage all 34,000 alumni and many friends of the College who contribute to College of Business strategic initiatives that advance recruitment, raise retention rates, heighten College reputation, and increase donations to the College.
This position establishes and maintains relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including university faculty, administrators, committees, alumni, industry partners, donors, volunteers, parents and friends.
Reporting to the Executive Director of Advancement, this position will proactively plan and implement ways to increase the engagement of our alumni and friends with the College.
This position can be based in Portland, Oregon or Corvallis, Oregon.
Typically requires Bachelor's degree in field related to assigned responsibilities. Experience developing and engaging in strategic partnerships with external stakeholders.
Bachelor's degree in business, communications, hospitality, marketing, public relations, or other field from which comparable knowledge can be gained.
Experience in producing and promoting large-scale events to meet strategic objectives, in both remote and in person settings.
Commitment to promoting diversity and inclusiveness with all audiences.
3 years of professional experience and professionalism working with alumni, donors, working professionals or other external audiences; demonstrating a commitment to excellent customer service.
Working knowledge of current Microsoft Office software.
Quantifiable success in facilitating connections and relationships, including cultivating, managing and tracking relationships.
Ability to maintain confidentiality, discretion and professionalism.
Strong decision-making skills, including setting priorities and managing multiple projects/activities/deadlines.
This position requires driving a university vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the university; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per University Policy 05-030.
Typical office environment with some travel required within and outside the region. Regular travel to advancement events and activities, many of which are Portland-based and Corvallis-based will be required.
