The Marketing Manager will be expected to create top-notch, compelling and effective content for a variety of audiences and platforms with an emphasis on digital output. The Marketing Manager will be responsible for leading and implementing the company’s day-to-day digital marketing and external communications strategies.
The Marketing Manager reports the Director of Marketing,identifying, developing, and curating content across all stages of the visitor cycle. The ideal candidate will be an exceptional communicator and collaborative relationship builder.
The Marketing Manager provides vision and support for the Fort Collins voice and content initiatives. The Marketing Manager should be proficient in leveraging research, website analytics, objectives, and brand positioning to define and deliver compelling text, audio, and video content across multiple platforms. This is an opportunity for a creative, professional individual with experience in social media marketing, branding, public relations and/or advertising to put your talent to:
Manage daily marketing content and initiatives.
Understand and communicate voice and tonality of the Fort Collins brand and to ensure proper online messaging and relevancy.
Manage VisitFortCollins.com and FortCollinsMarketplace.com. This includes creating editorial content (text, photos, video) for social media channels and syndication (content, photos, video). The Manager will have an engaging writing style, meticulous editing abilities and creative collaboration skills to develop content concepts and bring fresh ideas to the brand.
Plan and implement interactive marketing campaigns and promotions that support brand positioning.
Develop and manage web/interactive/operations/development/support budgets within the overall marketing budget.
Track and analyze website trends, usage, traffic sources, and formulate plans to improve and optimize.
Monitor online reputation.
Manage video & photo asset library.
Work closely with partnership, marketing, sales, and PR teams to implement a wide variety of sales, marketing, talent recruitment and operational initiatives.
Function as an informational architect, always thinking about ways to improve instinctive user experiences and increase engagements. The Marketing Manager must be highly focused on identifying opportunities. Coordination with social media and blog content strategy is expected.
Manage email marketing initiatives to increase online visitors and revenue through website and other online campaigns, sometimes in partnership with an outside agency.
Deliver analysis of online campaigns and regular traffic/usage updates.
Employ SEO best practices to drive traffic to content, and knowledge of effective user experiences in interactive products.
Assist in planning and execution of online efforts across various departments, including SEO, SEM display advertising and video distribution.
Serve as project manager to all online projects, including content and site development.
Serve as a primary contact for strategic digital partnerships.
Serve as administrator for the Destination Marketing Organization’s CMS and serve as contact and controller for all departments.
Train all departments on the use of the website administration tools and style guides.
Proficiency with graphic design programs such as InDesign, Illustrator or Photoshop a plus.
Well-qualified candidates have:
5-10 years of experience in marketing, communications, or a related field
Strategic mindset and ability to connect vision with marketing tools
Strong graphic design experience in Adobe Creative Suite required
Specific experience in Adobe InDesign, PhotoShop, and Illustrator required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent digital marketing and social media knowledge including proficiency with related marketing software
Experience with WordPress content management system
Demonstrated ability for accuracy, thoroughness, and quality control
Confident and motivated personality that is driven by a desire to create strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Driven work ethic and ability to deliver with little guidance
Effective time management and organizational skills
Team oriented with the ability to collaborate with others
Efficient learner committed to quickly learning about our company and industry
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (specifically, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communication, journalism, graphic design, or a related field
