Assist the Director of Athletic Communications in the day-to-day operations and all public relations, communications and media efforts for Brown’s 34 varsity programs. This position is responsible for providing communications-related services for assigned teams, student-athletes, coaches and staff, and will also work alongside the marketing and multimedia teams. The successful candidate must be highly organized and driven with exceptional multi-tasking and communication skills. The candidate must have strong knowledge of social media platforms as well as outstanding writing and public relations skills. Produce various communication materials (written, social media, multimedia, etc.) and maintain frequent communication with coaches, student-athletes, media, alumni, parents and donors. Supervise, hire and train event (professional and student) staff.

Job Qualifications Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree required; preferably in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or other related disciplines or a combination of education and related experience
2-3 years experience in communications/marketing/journalism in collegiate athletics or professional sports, preferred.
Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign/Photoshop), Statistical Software (StatCrew, Genius Sports and NCAA Live Stats), Website content management systems (preferably SIDEARM), a basic knowledge of various social media platforms (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook), and familiarity with both MAC and PC platforms.
General knowledge of NCAA, Ivy League and ECAC rules and regulation.
Strong understanding of collegiate athletics with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication & computer skills, necessary.
Strong editing skills
In-depth knowledge of a wide range of sports and their technical aspects.
Demonstrated ability to work with and relate well to students.
Strong organizational skills and ability to balance multiple projects at once, while meeting established deadlines.
