Adhering to principles consistent with Occupational Therapy for the evaluation and treatment of delays and conditional of individuals ages birth-geriatrics
Treats individuals, ages birth-geriatrics, within a clinic setting, who have been referred for occupational therapy
Adheres to the services per the measurable result/outcome/goal, frequency, duration, beginning and end dates outlined in the Treatment Plan of Care
Adheres to documentation standards established by Personalized Therapy and submits all sessions notes, outcome summaries, and other reports as deemed necessary promptly
Maintains a patient visit schedule consistent with the needs of the families and company guidelines while eliminating unnecessary travel
Works with the client's family/caregiver(s) to provide strategies they can work on to address the individual's delay(s).
Helps patient develop or regain physical or mental functioning or adjust to disabilities by implementing programs involving manual arts and crafts, practice in functional, prevocational, vocational, and homemaking skills, activities of daily living, and sensorimotor, educational, recreational, and social activities; directing aides, technicians, and assistants.
Promotes maximum independence by selecting and constructing therapies according to individual's physical capacity, intelligence level, and interest
Evaluates results of occupational therapy by observing, noting, and evaluating patient's progress; recommending and implementing adjustments and modifications.
Completes discharge planning by consulting with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other health care workers; contributing to patient care conferences
Assures continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing and instructing patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs; recommending and/or providing assistive equipment; recommending outpatient or home health follow-up programs
Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs
Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, advising management on needed actions.
Treats individuals of all races, creeds, gender, and disability without bias or prejudice
Respects and understands the child/family's right to services and right to involvement in service decisions
Practices ethical responsibility based on the cultural, ethnic, and religious beliefs of the patient served and applicable by law
Prepares and submits reports, assuring confidentiality and following all HIPPA guidelines
Attends meetings as required
Communicates effectively with other members of the multidisciplinary team
Keeps abreast of new techniques and trends in the field of Occupational Therapy
Attends conventions, meetings, or special courses whenever possible and share with the clinic personnel information gained
Prepares and gives talks to community groups and participates in community outreach events in support of Personalized Therapy's mission, as requested
Maintains good public relations with all community sources
Plans for future improvement in procedures and organization of the program
Holds a current license as an Occupational Therapist in the state of Maryland
Current (or ability to obtain) First Aid and CPR/BLS Card (infant/child)
Criminal background check cleared
Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
Excellent customer service, interpersonal, documentation, and communication skills
Review evaluations, re-evaluations, treatment notes and stays current on individual Plan of Care
Receive pertinent e-mails from team members and/or administration
Ability to troubleshoot; strong sense of decision making and judgment; action-oriented; approachable
Team player and effective at building and fostering teamwork as well as maintain composure when dealing with conflict; thoughtful of others; courteous
Active listening skills and able to adapt to change
Effectively manages time and priorities.
Available to travel between our 3 clinics (St. Mary's, Charles, and Calvert counties)
2 openings. Employer will assist with relocation costs.
