Summary Under general supervision of the Director of Facilities, the Custodial Supervisor is responsible for supervising day-to-day activities of the Housekeeping staff ensuring a clean, safe, and aseptic environment for students, staff, and the public.
Supervises, schedules, and directs all Housekeeping personnel in work duties and functional tasks.
Assigns housekeeping tasks to staff and inspects work to ensure that standards of cleanliness are met.
Coordinates completion of and assists with SchoolDude web-based work order assignments including, but not limited to: function set-up, moving furniture and boxes, and requests from staff and faculty.
Assists with set up and cleaning for major events including Commencement, Regis Fest, Open House, and Class Reunions.
Coordinates preventative maintenance for housekeeping equipment.
Regularly takes inventory of cleaning supplies and orders stock as needed.
Uses chemicals and supplies according to Department standards to ensure safety and efficiency.
Reports safety issues and problems to supervisor.
Prepares dormitories for outside groups during the summer months.
Schedules staff shifts and organizes replacements for absenteeism as required.
Is available after hours for emergencies.
May serve as a member of the Blood Borne Pathogen Response Team.
Attends in-service trainings and other meetings as required.
Performs other related duties as required.
Supervises Housekeeping staff in accordance with Regis Colleges policies and applicable laws.
Assists with interviewing and hiring employees, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
Duties require knowledge of housekeeping service equivalent to completion of high school diploma and two to four years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge of good housekeeping practices in maintaining building cleanliness and good order.
Knowledge of the proper uses and application techniques for cleaning products.
Skill in the operation and maintenance of equipment used in work, including but not limited to, shampoo machines, vacuums, bathroom cleaning machines, and two-way radio.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to establish positive public relations for the department and to interact with a wide variety of people.
Ability to perform repetitive tasks in cleaning buildings with minimal supervision.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Ability to supervise and direct Housekeeping staff in work duties and functional tasks.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands
Continuous walking, standing, stooping, pushing, and pulling, and periods requiring sustained uncomfortable physical positions.
Ability to lift, carry, and position objects utilizing proper body mechanics and techniques.
Utilizes proper sanitary precautions when handling trash, garbage, and other potential biohazards.
