Position Summary: This position performs all functions necessary to cultivate relationships with students with the goal of moving them from inquiry to matriculation into the Seminary, and all the way through to graduation. This is a results-oriented position requiring the delicate balance between goal achievement and ministering to students as they further their theological leadership training. The person selected for this position will identify, recruit, and help retain Doctor of Ministry students as their primary focus, and participate as part of the overall enrollment advising team to serve the mission of the seminary.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Networking/Recruiting
Works collaboratively with the Doctor of Ministry Office in all networking and recruiting efforts.
Responsible for networking with a variety of contacts, organizations, and denominations, including alumni, pastors, educators, and ministry leaders of parachurch ministries to promote the Doctor of Ministry degree and generate personal leads. Upon making contacts, follows up appropriately to encourage action.
Travels 35% of the time (14-18 weeks) building new relationships and exploring new territory while creating a solid funnel of prospects for the Admissions Office at Asbury Theological Seminary.
Works independently on a daily basis, creating a solid plan of recruitment; works interdependently with a team, assisting students in the admissions process.
Effectively strengthens relationships with alumni and other key constituents.
Takes initiative within a responsible budget-management philosophy to expand the current territory of Asbury Theological Seminary.
Exhibits intuitiveness and the ability to adapt to change.
Due to the nature of this position, the ability to acclimate quickly to a variety of situations and audiences and the ability to “think on one’s feet” are a must.
Maintains a high level of productivity to meet and exceed established enrollment goals. Must be able to multi-task efficiently.

Doctor of Ministry Applicant Counseling
Works collaboratively with the AVP of Enrollment Services in overseeing the Doctor of Ministry admissions process in coordination with Doctor of Ministry leadership.
Works with students and facilitates communication as they discern the next steps in their calling, selecting a cohort topic, and choosing a location for residency.
Maintains appropriate print, electronic and verbal communication with inquired, applied, admitted, and confirmed individuals.
Determines admissibility of applicants acting in coordination with the Doctor of Ministry Office as defined by admissions policies.
Creates, reviews, and communicates the status of applicants’ files.
Reviews applicants’ files for completion.
Works with prospective students in order to lead them through the application process.
Provides students with enrollment information.
Assists the Manager of International Services with visa processes for international students and provides student information for F-1 visa purposes.
Creates and maintains an admissions funnel that is shared with the Admissions and Doctor of Ministry Office.
Collaborates with the AVP of Enrollment Services and Director of Financial Aid in managing the scholarship awarding processes to leverage funding and fill established cohorts.
Doctor of Ministry Student Academic Advising
Works in conjunction with the Doctor of Ministry Office to track students’ academic standing, registration, and progress in the program.
Maintains appropriate print, electronic and verbal communication with enrolled students.
Maintains student files, orients the students to the Doctor of Ministry program, and assists them in developing an educational plan consistent with the student’s needs and ministry goals, including course planning and the scheduling and registering of classes.
Provides accurate information to students about institutional policies, procedures, resources, and programs and advises students concerning academic exceptions, academic probation, and individual academic planning needs.
Creates and maintains degree plans for enrolled students.
Initiates contact with students at key times throughout the Academic Year including, but not limited to:
Navigating through the process of actionable steps when “holds” appear (Business, academic, etc.) on the student's account with the student
key changes in course schedules/degree requirements, graduation application, etc.
Develops and maintains reportable means of retention communications for students’ enrollment and registrations.
Maintains student records on Doctor of Ministry advisees including a bi-annual manual update of degree process tracking and reasons for non-registration by academic term.
Maintains data and communications systems for monitoring student enrollment and registrations for successful program initiation and completion, and for enrollment management reporting.
Meets with prospective students, conducts campus visits, participates in collaborative meetings and training sessions, and works on special projects and other duties as assigned.
Maintains reportable means of tracking all student contacts.
Attends Doctor of Ministry team meetings to ensure collaboration and support.
Collaborates with the Doctor of Ministry team to assist with retention by being available to students during cohort residencies.
Cultivates relationships with prospective and current students, and Seminary constituents.
Manages current and prospective Doctor of Ministry students.
Facilitates site visits for prospective Doctor of Ministry students.
Generates qualified Doctor of Ministry applications for the Seminary through direct interaction with the Christian community at large.
Increases the number of prospective Doctor of Ministry students, current students, and graduates.
Provides clear and concise information to students.
Plans and implements phone activities that support the enrollment efforts.
Guide students through the full enrollment process by utilizing a Moves Management philosophy and practice. This approach looks to work with and continually move students through all stages of the funnel, through to graduation.

Able to work evenings and weekends during peak seasons
Able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
Turns in all travel receipts in a timely and efficient manner
Licensed driver with a clean driving record and background check
