Under the guidance of the Associate Director, the Manager will be responsible for the daily operational management of the University Visitor Center for prospective Columbia College and Columbia Engineering undergraduate students, families, college counselors and community based organizations.
The Manager will serve on the Visit Team, which includes the functions of the Visitor Center and all prospect and admitted student events for Columbia College and Columbia Engineering.
Jointly with the Manager of University and Community Visitor Relations, the Manager will hire, train and supervise 10-12 student employees who will staff the office answering phones and visitor inquiries throughout the academic year and during summer session and supervise one administrative staff member who assists with administrative work.
The Manager will serve on the Undergraduate Recruitment Committee team to support the hiring, training and managing of 150+ Columbia College and Columbia Engineering students.
The Manager will be responsible for the daily facilitation of information sessions and campus tours for Undergraduate Admissions, including booking on-campus spaces and assigning admissions officer representation.
The Manager is responsible for creating mechanisms to capture prospective student visitor data and assess campus visits, including developing and administering visit surveys and reporting on results to the Associate Director.
The Manager will be responsible for maintaining relationships with key campus constituencies including Public Safety, Public Affairs and University Event Management.
The Manager will be responsible for creating class visitation lists through the University registrar.
The Manager will be responsible for ordering and maintaining the inventory of materials associated with the schools they support used in the Visitors Center.
Jointly with the Manager of University and Community Visitor Relations, the Manager will be responsible for all data capture, surveys and reporting of on-campus visitors.
Perform other duties as designated by the Associate Director.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
2-4 years of experience in visitor/program management or related experience in higher education or related field.
Excellent communication, organizational and problem solving skills.
