USC Bovard College is seeking a graphic designer/animator to design and develop graphics and animation for graduate programs that address the unique needs of professionals seeking to advance their careers. Working closely with subject matter experts, faculty and staff, this role supports efforts to create programs that empower students to have the confidence to achieve whatâs next. This role requires excellent communication skills, demonstrated graphic design and animation skills, knowledge and passion for graphic design and animation in an online learning environment. Experience creating original graphic design and animation assets is required. We seek a creative Graphic Designer/Animator who will consider our students needs and create design solutions with high student engagement. You will identify and produce a variety of products, including original images, design elements, handouts, motion graphics, internal presentation documents, USC Bovard media library assets and motion graphic animations. You will collaborate with the media team and instructional designers. This position will report to the Director of Multimedia.
Collaborates with faculty and staff to create and sources graphic design and animation assets for online graduate courses.
Serve as the project lead to ensure deliverables are effective learning aids to courses.
Create original images, design elements, handouts, internal communication documents, motion graphics, and animations to aid content design and delivery for online courses.
Organize and coalesce original assets created by the media team to be reused and repurposed by all team members for future courses. Organize images, templates, etc. in an asset library to be easily accessible to all production staff.
Contribute to and support the USC Bovard media process and pedagogy. Stay current with best practices and propose applicable techniques to further develop the effectiveness of an online instruction.
Stay current with animation, motion graphics, and design technology and platforms. Explore new techniques, innovations, and design trends and apply to lecture videos, infographics, internal communications templates and other visual content created by the media team where appropriate.
Bachelor's degree in graphic design or related field.
Proven graphic designing experience
Possession of creative flair, versatility, conceptual/visual ability and originality
Ability to understand content and design within established style guide and brand identity standards
Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio
Ability to interact, communicate and present ideas
Highly proficient in all design aspects
Professionalism regarding time, costs and deadlines
Graphic designing experience in higher education online courses
Advanced skills using Adobe creative suite
Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree; Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum educationMinimum Experience: 5 years; Combined education/experience as substitute for minimum experienceMinimum Field of Expertise: Art direction and production of periodicals and publications, demonstrated ability in editorial design, and knowledge of desktop publishing systems and related specialized equipment.
