Develops and executes a strong and successful social media strategy for the Center, ProMarket and Capitalisnâ™t.
Promotes content across platforms, including implementing strategic digital/social media campaigns and organic and paid social media strategy.
Writes/copyedits content for Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc. and assists with other products related to Stigler Center activities (e.g., annual reports, marketing material for events and conferences, etc.).Â Assists with design/layout of various digital collateral for promotion/dissemination. Promotes and covers Center events by live-tweeting, engaging on social media, taking notes/pictures.
Maintains Centerâ™s YouTube channel; organizes video content. Assists with informal video production (for social media) as needed.
Creates communication/marketing/social media toolkits (including images, links, and suggested prompts) for Stigler Center events to share with relevant parties.
Conducts outreach through social media, Eventbrite, Zoom, email platforms (Mailchimp, Marketo).
Develops a content calendar and oversees execution of content marketing strategy to drive awareness for the Centerâ™s activities.
Tracks and measures engagement levels within/across the platforms over time.
Assists in identifying and tracking key metrics to inform strategy and devising data-driven tactics.
Oversees execution of email marketing plan (prepare email blasts, newsletter, event promotions; manage email lists).
Updates and manages the Centerâ™s website (using Sitecore) and Capitalisnâ™t website.
Drafts and edits event-specific talking points and speeches for Center staff.
Develops event and program marketing strategy and processes to engage key audiences.
Supports Stigler Center programming and projects as needed.
In cooperation with the Associate Director and Director, strategizes on optimal ways to increase engagement with peers, students, and potential partners.
Executes marketing and communications plans across target internal and external audiences (liaising with the ProMarket, Capitalisnâ™t podcast, and Boothâ™s Marketing and Communications teams).
Develops audience acquisition/enlargement strategies (e.g. expand lists, use new tools, etc.).
Manages digital-related freelance contract work as needed.
Plans, develops and disseminates information designed to keep the public informed of the organization's programs, accomplishments, or point of view, with moderate levels of guidance and direction.
Solves a range of straightforward problems, as work assignments are difficult and broad in nature, usually requiring originality and ingenuity.
Performs other related work as needed.
Bachelorâ™s degree in communications, journalism, media, marketing, public relations, economics, political science, or a related field.
At least two years of progressively responsible relevant work experience.
Background in a non-profit/academic setting.
Technical Skills or Knowledge:
Skilled in social media campaigns and outreach.
Understanding of the fundamentals of traditional and social media and content creation.
Proficient in social media marketing and management tools.
Familiarity with HTML.
Accomplished in content management systems; Sitecore or Wordpress.
Adept at graphic design; Adobe Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and/or Dreamweaver).
Exceptional written and verbal communication, proofreading/copyediting, problem-solving, decision-making, client and cross-department collaboration skills.
Take knowledge and transform it into exciting, easily digestible, useful messages and disseminate it to the right audiences through the best distribution channels.
Knowledge of the Chicago Booth and/or the University of Chicago.
Available to work some evenings and weekends.
