The Associate Director of Communications reports to the Director of Communications and Public Relations and serves as an integral part of the External Relations team. This role is critical to Milken ‘s success through work with both internal and external stakeholders including parents, students, lay leaders, faculty, vendors, the press and community members. Excellent communication skills and a customer-centric passion are essential as this person will support the marketing, communications, and PR efforts for Milken.
Ensure website is updated and in line with Milken communication strategy.
Manage process for new website including process and launch timeline and marketing.
Edit website content.
Create landing pages as needed.
Update Resource Board tiles as needed by Milken department input.
Create registrations for events and manage RSVPs (reporting to departments as needed).
Update photos on the website on a regular basis.
Email Marketing & Advertising
Develop communications strategy for current families.
Manage communications for prospective families.
Deploy emails in Pushpage, Mailchimp and Hubspot.
Manage dashboard for emails.
Develop ad campaign to promote Milken and work with designer to develop ad materials.
Public Relations & Community Relations
Develop community outreach plan and cultivate existing and new relationships with local constituents.
Implement Milken’s public relations plan.
Work with Director of Communications and Public Relations to develop and implement grassroots strategies for marketing and community relations.
Lead marketing and communication for special projects and initiatives such as Milken’s 30th anniversary.
Manage lifecycle program celebrating and commemorating events such as births and deaths.
Assist in implementation of the External Relations Strategic Plan including things like managing a student ambassador program, press relations, and events.
Lead the External Relations implementation of the Milken Way program across campus (customer approach to creating “story moments” at Milken).
Work with the Creative Director to produce content for website, social media, and email marketing.
Photograph and post to social media as needed.
Work with campus partners to ensure all Milken branded materials are on-brand.

Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
Bachelor’s degree, Master’s a plus.
Minimum 10 years related experience.
InDesign and/or Photoshop experience is a plus.
Basic knowledge of HTML a plus.
Knowledge of Blackbaud, Hubspot and/or Mailchimp a plus.
Entrepreneurial and collaborative approach to marketing.
A team player who is flexible, highly detail oriented, able to multi-task easily, and has impeccable follow-through on projects.
