NYU's Leonard N. Stern School of Business has a challenging opportunity for an Assistant Director, Communications on the Public Affairs team. The selected candidate will support the Development and Alumni Relations office in its efforts to communicate important updates from the School and support alumni engagement and fundraising efforts. The Assistant Director will create e-newsletters, digital event invitations, develop graphics for fundraising appeal letters and emails, create donor-related publications across a wide variety of promotional vehicles, produce content for and manage alumni social media accounts, assist with the development of the alumni magazine, develop alumni profiles and other editorial content, promote alumni events, and support alumni engagement through various channels. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to managing the design, print, and mailing of communications materials, collecting and analyzing performance metrics to optimize digital communications, handling data and mail list requests, managing e- and online promotion, and overseeing and updating the department website.
Candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree along with 3 years' direct marketing experience or membership relations, administering budgets, working with an email marketing system and a website content management system, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels and have strong customer service, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Project management and problem-solving skills are critical, along with the ability to juggle multiple tasks, work with a variety of stakeholders, have a strong attention to detail and excellent writing skills. Knowledge of standard office software and experience with email marketing platforms such as Marketo or MailChimp, knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) or other design programs such as Canva is also required. Candidates should also have knowledge of creating dynamic email content, journey mapping, and basic HTML.
